Direct Care Provider (Residential Counselor) for Group Residence in Kingston, MA

Community Strategies of Massachussets (CSMA) provides residential and community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Community Strategies is a program of the Community Resources for Justice, a 130-year-old nonprofit human services agency. We have immediate openings for Full-Time or Part-Time Direct Care Providers (Residenital Counselor) in our Kingston, MA residence.

This is a career opportunity-we promote from within and we are growing! We currently have 18 group homes and have plans to open more.

The residence in Kingston supports five male clients with developmental/behavioral disabilities.  The Residential Counselor plays an essential role in the smooth operations of this group residence.  The goal is to provide clients the security and support they need to reach their full potential. Families and the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation are important partners in structuring individual programs to improve living skills and foster independence. For many clients, it's the first time they've been able to live happily and comfortably in the community. That base of support enables clients to develop job skills, receive training and work toward greater self-sufficiency.

The Residential Counselor will directly assist resident clients with their day-to-day activities, monitor the clients to insure they are acting within the the range of program and individual guildlines, and implement and follow behavioral plans as directed by the clinical staff.  The Residential Counselor also plays an important part in the safety of the resident clients and staff by insuring we offer support and guidance to clients when needed and identify and intervene in situations when necessary. Other duties as assigned.
We offer extensive training, so no experience is necessary. We are looking for teamplayers who can demonstrate good judgement and compassion.  All CSMA resident staff are trained and certified in various forms of de-escalation techniques to insure the safety of consumers and staff.

This is a great opportunity to build a career or gain experience if you are interested in human services, direct care, nursing, or any clinically related professions. We have all shifts available: Full-Time or Part-Time.

What we offer: training, excellent benefits, tuition reimbursement (up to $1500) and tuition remission (to state schools), and a competitive wage.
