Dino Ball Coordinator

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, one of Southern California's preeminent institutions, has an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded individual to coordinate and oversee all aspects of the 2009 Dinosaur Ball fundraising event.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working in a cooperative relationship with an independent events contractor, you will handle and process gifts and pledges, as well as produce and track thank-you letters; shepherd invitations from printing to coordination of mailing; collaborate with the Major Gifts Officer and Campaign Director to build and update a master list of names; coordinate the event program, including sponsorship recognition; handle printing of all letterhead and related materials; and work with Advancement Services to track event budgets. You will recruit volunteers and coordinate employee duties for day-of event; secure all necessary permits; manage responses to all phone and e-mail inquiries; work with the Ball Chairperson to manage RSVPs, guest lists and seating charts; and coordinate post-event follow-ups. Event is scheduled for April 25, 2009.

QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to a related bachelor's degree and/or relevant professional experience, the top candidate will bring exceptional ability to organize and follow through with multiple commitments and responsibilities to ensure that all deadlines are met and all required functions have been fulfilled. You will have superior interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, and be proficient in MS Office applications.
