Compensation Manager
Audubon, one of the nation's leading environmental organizations, seeks a detail-oriented HR professional to develop, implement and manage Audubon’s Compensation Management System and Processes at our national headquarters in New York City.
You will work collaboratively with an outside consultant during the design and build phase of the project and, once implemented, will assume responsibility for maintaining the system, training and communicating policy to field personnel, and ensuring organizational compliance with FLSA. You’ll also be expected to establish pay structures; maintain the integrity of compensation data in the HRIS system; manage the annual merit increase process; and perform the wage and salary research necessary to ensure that Audubon remains competitive within the industry.
To qualify, you must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources or Finance preferred), at least 5 years of hands-on experience in compensation management and administration, and strong technical knowledge of compensation programs/systems. Candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of IRS, DOL, FLSA, and other relevant laws and regulatory issues; general knowledge of HR policies and procedures; and the excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to train and interact professionally with all levels within the organization. Above average proficiency in MS Office applications (including Access) is required. A Master’s degree is a plus. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
