CASE MANAGER

Patient Advocate Foundation, a national non-profit, located in Newport News, Virginia seeks a candidate for a full time Case Manager.  Successful candidate will have experience in negotiating insurance coverage for prescribed treatments or therapies and educating patients through support groups and/or individual counseling. Duties would include procuring pre authorizations for recommended procedures, assisting patients through the insurance appeals process to overturn insurance denials, and negotiate coverage for experimental and investigational procedures on an individual basis. Candidate must possess excellent written/reporting and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate must be self directed, able to work autonomously and be experienced in working directly with health plan representatives. 



 



Candidate must have one of the following background and/or experience:  medical, coding and billing experience; RN, LPN, CCM or social work certifications. Two to five years of experience in a non-profit and/or healthcare environment required. Competitive salary and excellent benefit package.  Email hr@patientadvocate.org to obtain an application.
