CASE MANAGER
CASE MANAGER
Community Housing Innovations, Inc., a White Plains based non-profit, is seeking a candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or MSW in human services or related field preferred for Westchester County scattered site housing program. Extensive experience may be substituted for advanced educational requirement. Position is responsible for ensuring that all program participants are provided with the services necessary to promote personal and economic independence, to have skills required to obtain, maintain, and retain permanent housing, and are living in well-maintained units. This position will be based out of the White Plains office and carries a case load and consists of field work primarily in Southern Westchester.
Position requires:
- Two years experience working in a related field such as homelessness, housing or case management.
- Ability to relate to the underserved, homeless, and disabled populations.
- A valid driver’s license and car insurance
- Ability to make home visits (walk distances, climb stairs, etc.). Able to make unit inspections (HUD Section 8 requirements, and teach ADL skills)
- Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.
- Competency in MS Office, Excel, and the Internet
- Ability to formulate financial budgets and assist families with budgeting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details.
