Assistant Program Director
Position Title: Assistant Program Director
Reports To: Program Director
Job Summary
The Assistant Program Director oversees and monitors all administrative, programmatic and clinical services and operations of MNRC residential programs for individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury, and assists Program Director in the development and initiation of program goals and program management.
Essential Functions of Position: Develops and monitors all administrative, programmatic and clinical services of all MNRC residential programs. Currently this includes four residences in the Waltham and Newton area. Provides supervision to Program Managers of MNRC residential programs and reviews all Program Managers' schedules, assignments and records in a periodic, systematic manner. Conducts and oversees the hiring and termination of Program Managers and other direct care staff. Provides and coordinates staff orientation and staff in-service training. Evaluates work performance of supervisees as specified by agency personnel policies and standards of clinical practice. Ensures the development and implementation of treatment/rehabilitation plans in all programs. Ensures that services are provided in a manner that optimizes client independence and recovery, and that services are culturally sensitive and responsive. Oversees and monitors a positive and professional relationship with the neighbors, community members, involved family members, colleagues and funding sources. Oversees and provides advocacy and case management services for the clients, which includes contact with families, day program/vocational placements and other service providers. Ensures that programs are in compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and funding agencies regulations. Provides second on-call and emergency back-up to program staff on a regularly scheduled basis. Other duties and projects as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Directors.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or a related field, plus two years supervisory experience in the administration of programs serving adults with long term mental illness and/or developmental disabilities; or B.A. Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or a related field, plus at least five years supervisory experience in the administration of programs serving adults with long term mental illness and/or developmental disabilities in the residential program settings. Certification as a Medication Administration Technician within 90 days of hire. Valid driver's license. Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate clinical understanding into treatment plans, including diagnostic and psychopharmacologic information. Solid understanding of basic clinical and program model concepts.

Ability to articulate and communicate MNRC mission and strategic direction in a consistent and enthusiastic manner to relevant parties. Ability to identify opportunities and obstacles and develop effective, creative solutions to pursue opportunities.
