Aquatic Director

Jump IN! and build Community at the West Philadelphia YMCA. 

 

Provide leadership in the development, implementation, promotion and administration of the aquatics programs that are responsive to the needs of the community.  Ensure effective staffing of lifeguards and instructors that will lead to quality programs and services.  Follow YMCA guidelines for managing an Aquatic Facility.

 



Requirements: 

· Prefer college degree with three to five years experience in aquatics programs.

· CPR, first aid, Lifeguard and WSI or YMCA swimming lesson instructor certifications.  Willingness to continue training and gain related certifications and trainer level certifications.

· Experience in supervising staff and volunteers.

· Experience in working with voluntary boards, committees and in providing leadership to groups preferred.

· Ability to see and hear people in the pool and distress signals.

· Ability to operate PC, use spreadsheets, word processing and related software.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Ability to recruit and motivate staff.
