Do you have a passion for animals?  Would you like a job that is challenging but that really matters?  At the end of the day, would you like to be able to say that you made a difference in the life of a companion animal?

 

We are looking for a high energy, motivated person to coordinate all animal programs for our multi-site non-profit organization.  The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of animal care and oversight of all spay/neuter and adoption programs.  The individual will need to develop and implement organization wide standard protocols for animal intake, cleaning and sanitation, medication and feeding, spay/neuter, and adoption.  Other duties include:  supervise, train, evaluate, and schedule animal care staff, adoption counselors, and vet techs; develop and manage a budget for animal programs; coordinate and consolidate purchasing of animal supplies; interact with other animal welfare agencies and the veterinary community.  This position reports directly to the Executive Director. 

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree, supervisory experience, excellent communication and computer skills.  Strong interpersonal skills, highly organized and hard-working; the ability to maintain a friendly/positive/cheerful demeanor in a fast-paced and demanding work environment, the ability to multi-task amid constant interruption, sense of humor and great compassion, maturity, desire to work as part of a team, and a deep love of animals. Experience with hiring and setting/measuring performance standards and managing budgets. Ability to travel between sites.  Experience coordinating and managing the activities of two or more sites preferred.
