Accounting Manager

The Foundation seeks an exceptional individual to serve as an Accounting Manager in our Lincoln, Nebraska, location. The person selected for this role is driven by precision and brings a great aptitude for numbers, budgeting, metric reports, and other accounting-related tasks and procedures. We seek an organized individual with demonstrated skills as a self-starter and a team player, as well as a clear communicator who passionately advocates the Foundation’s tree planting mission at every opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Provide internal support and expertise in the following areas: contract compliance; invoicing; preparation of financial reports; accounts receivable; tax reporting; internal auditing; and data analysis of projects, financials, and other key business metrics. Handle all aspects of the charitable solicitation registration process, keeping the Foundation in compliance with the regulations and requirements in each state. Assist in various aspects of the annual budget process, including creation of the import sheet, setting up of new general ledger accounts, data entry into budget spreadsheets and distribution of completed product to managers. Conduct thorough research and other project assistance as needed, ensuring all information is explored and the best information is provided. Perform administrative duties as assigned, including composing letters, typing correspondence, data entry and filing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 Passion for the Foundation’s mission of tree planting and environmental stewardship. A keen eye for detail paired with the drive for achieving results An advanced aptitude for numbers and Microsoft Excel Ability to maintain complete confidentiality relating to all business information Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization Demonstrate initiative and ownership on multiple projects Excellent written and oral communication skills Positive outlook and attitude Self-starter who can work independently and as a member of a team A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, such as finance or business management, or a minimum three years of advanced experience in accounting
