VP of Technology - China
A new state-of-the-art metal rolling mill in China is seeking a VP of Technology.
** Company will consider candidates from any location internationally - current passport required. Wonderful opportunities for retirees!
Company will consider candidates with 5+ years of aluminum rolling mill experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
** Manage & provide technical leadership to staff of 35+ professional engineers and scientists in the Laboratory, Process Engineering, Metallurgy, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service in a professional manner.
** Provide managerial and technical leadership to the Technical Department.
** Ensure that all processes, materials and products conform to best practices and specifications.
** Represent company in technical and product quality related issues.
** Support Production Department in matters related to quality and productivity.
** Support Sales & Marketing in customer support and quality issues.
** Responsible for liaison between customers and standards organizations
** Maintain system of customer and purchasing specification
** Interface with IT Department in support of systems related to specifications and certifications
** Develop or modify products and processes as required .
** Reports to the Executive Director of the Facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
** Requires minimum of BS Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science with minimum of 5 years of experience in an aluminum rolled products facility, but more is desirable.
** Prefers MS in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science but will accept 20+ years of experience in aluminum rolling
** Knowledge of:
- Physical metallurgy of aluminum
- Lubrication and/or coolant systems and their suppliers
- Process technology of aluminum rolled products
- Laboratory testing and methodology
- Aluminum sheet and plate products
- Quality assurance systems
- Customer, Association and Industrial Specifications and Standards
- Familiar with can stocks, lithographic, 1000 & 5000 series alloy rolling process
** Skills:
- Managerial and technical skills related to managing a large technical organization in the production of aluminum rolled products.
- Must be able to manage and interface with large groups of people of various backgrounds.
- Must be able to interface with customers on a global basis.
- Must be able to delegate to subordinates.
- Most important - must be professional, strong and authoritative.
- Must be able to help to setup a technology system and process flow for Greenfield plant
- Prefer to have Greenfield startup experience
