Test Technician

Our Warren, Michigan facility draws upon Bodycote’s worldwide experience and brings new capabilities to the local area, including: state-of-the-art computer and life simulation testing, expanded materials testing for polymers/plastics, metals, coatings, textiles, and failure analysis. The Center of Excellence also provides robotic test centers, instrumentation design and build, durability testing, and environmental conditioning/corrosion testing. This central facility will provide the support and service for the transportation market with the ability to test to worldwide standards to confirm both import/export requirements and conformance validation demands.
Position: Test Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Performs preparation/set-ups/testing/evaluation/monitoring of samples/parts based on Bodycote SOPs, designated standards, client instructions to meet client and/or regulatory needs.
· Work may be either tested at Bodycote or performed in the field at the client or other site.
· Completes worksheets and/or logbooks to maintain traceability of what was done.
· Provides information, opinion and advice to supervisor regarding status of tests.
· Maintains and repairs testing/prep equipment as required and reports any problems to supervisor immediately.
· Maintains proper records and verifies up-to-date calibration on equipment prior to use.
· Utilizes laboratory information system as required to enter data.
· Ensures all work complies with Bodycote’s Q.A manual and all written/verbal instructions.
· May assist in the creation/revision of SOPs.
· Assists in the generation of technical reports and certificates as required.
· Maintains a neat and safe work area.
· Performs other functions as required by immediate supervisor or delegate.
· Must be able to lift 50lbs repetitively/daily without concern.
Skills and Experience:
· Minimum 2 years experience in using/maintaining hydraulic systems & pneumatic systems
· Experience in Vibration testing is an asset.
· Computer skills including MS Word, Excel
