Supervisor BOP/Intermediate Mechanical Planning

In the USS Asset Reliability Process model, this assignment is directly responsible for the planning and reviewing of components. Coordinates maintenance activities, including planning and scheduling work, under direction of maintenance reliability supervision.

· Fully qualified and proficient Maintenance Technician.

· Desire and ability to drive transition toward reliability based maintenance.

· Understands reliability concepts.

· Excellent knowledge of equipment in area(s) of responsibility.

· Ability to use a computer and the Passport system.

· Detail oriented.

· Knows and follows USS and plant safety rules and procedures.

· Ability to work effectively with management and crews.

· Reads blueprints.

· Good communication skills.

Job Requirements:
SAFETY/ENVIRONMENT: ·  Ensures plans and schedules are consistent with safety objectives, policies and procedures. ·  Ensures plans and schedules are consistent with environmental objectives, policies and procedures. ·  Attends prescribed safety and environmental training. ·  Monitors the execution of his/her plans to determine if improvements in safety can be made. ·  Includes safety in all plans (for example LOTO, procedures, SJP’s, etc). COST: ·  Provides realistic plans that achieve desired results at lowest possible cost. ·  Works closely with the Reliability Engineer to identify alternative, cost effective components to help reduce repair costs. ·  Conforms to the maintenance budget as plans are developed. ·  Orders parts for anticipated work. Always attempts to minimize quantities ordered and takes steps to return unused inventory to stores. ·  Estimates time and manpower required for jobs to ensure work is completed efficiently as planned with the minimum force required.  ·  Monitors planned work as it is executed to determine if improvements can be made in the use of resources such as manpower, equipment, materials and energy. ·  Assists in managing cost of parts (volume, supplier, materials) as additions are made to stores inventory.  GENERAL ·  Reviews and processes all types of work requests into work orders (examples are Repetitive, Routine, Pre-planned, Inspection) ·  Visits job site and develops work packages which include: o Safety procedures o Special tools required o Parts necessary for the job o Procedures for execution o Drawings and sketches as required ·  Orders parts as required and recommend changes to stores levels to ensure parts availability to accomplish this work. ·  Provides pre planned work orders (PM, SMP, QSMP) to be scheduled on a timely basis. ·  Verifies material/parts/tools/manpower and equipment are available prior to scheduling work. ·  Monitors work he/she has planned while being executed and considers comments from Coordination of work may include direction of Maintenance Technicians on specific execution of the plan provided.  ·  Reviews comments and finding on completed PM’s, SMP’s and QSMP’s to determine if changes need to be made to frequency or content. Makes recommendations for change after the review. ·  Develops records and maintains equipment history on all equipment in the area of responsibility. ·  Communicates with and participates in discussions with maintenance and operating managers, inspectors, process coordinators and crew members regarding equipment condition.  ·  Is a member of selected CI teams. ·  Estimates realistic time for work completion.  ·  Reconciles work orders and closes out. ·  Maintains current, accurate backlog. ·  Works with parts expeditor to develop palletized parts and tool packages in preparation for work being scheduled.  ·  Generates reports as required. Bachlor of Science 5  + years of experience
