Manager - External Reporting

U. S. Steel has an immediate opening for a Manager-External Reporting at our Corporate Headquarters location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. U. S. Steel is a progressive public company with international operations.  We offer a team-oriented work environment where a wide range of accounting issues and transactions provide challenges and excellent opportunities for professional growth.  Responsibilities include Supervise, review and assist in the work of the Technical Accounting Specialist.  The Technical Accounting Specialist resolves accounting questions concerning such topics as consolidations, foreign currency, derivatives and leasing.  Supervise and review the work of the Senior Analyst – External Reporting.  The Senior Analyst – External Reporting assists with the preparation of the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K, prepares reports that formally analyze the statement of cash flows, calculates EPS on a monthly basis and prepares reports for various government agencies. Prepare and/or review the financial statements and footnotes for the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K and the financial statements for the quarterly Earnings Release. Perform financial analysis on the consolidated financial results. Assist General Accounting with questions concerning consolidation of wholly owned subsidiaries and variable interest entities. Coordinate internal and external SOX audits and ensure compliance with key internal controls. UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION IS AN EO/AA EMPLOYER

Job Requirements:


Candidates must have a: Minimum of 8 years in public accounting or similar industry experience. Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements. Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting Proficiency in Word and Excel Strong communication, writing, interpersonal and organization skills
