Lead Test Technician Lg Sys & Test 1st shift

The primary focus of the Lead Test Technician is to lead the team/cell to "Make pitch every hour of every day", provide associate development and guidance, and drive CI activity. This is a "working leader" position that is expected to fill any gaps on the build line whenever pitch is at risk. 1. Ensure that production targets are met. Hourly targets must be managed from within the cell, and the Lead Assembler is accountable for meeting those targets.
2. Provide for the development and well-being of the associates in the cell. This will include job skills training, performance feedback, and communication of Team plans, schedules, and other targets as required.
3. Promote an atmosphere of Continuous Improvement in the work cell. Ensure that the kaizen approach to CI is followed to support team goals for 5S, standard work, Flow, Pull, Andon, and Gemba.
4. Communicate the performance of the cell in a manner that is meaningful to the associates in the cell, and in harmony with other similar cells in format. Ensure that the method of communication (Safety Track/ Safety Cross; PBTH board; week-by-the-day; stand-up meeting; Boardwalk) is always up to date, in readiness for Gemba walks by GL, OL, BTL, VP, etc.
5. Work on the line as required to ensure that production targets are met. This may include filling in for late or absent associates, adding capacity during training periods, or it may be standard work for this position to occupy a work station, according to the size of the cell, complexity, and relative demand for the product.
