The Group Executive will drive continuous improvement and add value through cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives utilizing Business Excellence including Lean Six Sigma.

 

Specifically, the Group Executive of Global Business Improvement will:

 

§ Set strategy and lead process improvement initiative at corporate, ensuring initiative alignment with business vision and strategy

§ Partner with Process Owners and Champions to drive results and assist in project identification/selection, assuring linkage between projects and business and customer priorities

§ Deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefit (e.g., multi-million dollar run rate improvement)

§ Establish a program to train and coach Process Owners, Champions, Process Improvement Analysts

§ Formalize, socialize and create the critical roles at Newmont to ensure the success of the Lean Six Sigma program for the program and every project

§ Help select and lead a team of Process Improvement Analysts (Black Belts)

§ Create dashboard to monitor performance and improvements in key metrics

§ Act as change agent to instill Lean Six Sigma culture throughout the organization

§ Lead complex, high-visibility projects across multiple functions or businesses

§ Recruit talent and identify centralized efforts to develop and deliver training and certify Black Belts

 

Requirements

 

§ Self-directed, team player with 10 years of management experience, 5+ years experience in a Lean Six Sigma driven environment with 2+ years of experience as a Master Black Belt

§ Technical competency in Lean and Six Sigma skills: DMAIC, DFSS, Lean, Kaizen/Work-out, process management, change management and advanced statistical techniques

§ Proven leadership, project management, problem-solving and team development skills

§ Demonstrated success with leading, managing, and initiating change and ability to influence at all levels

§ Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams

§ Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills

§ Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects

§ Visionary with long term focus - able to see the end result

§ Ability to create an open environment supportive of free sharing of information and ideas that is also conducive to contribution, growth and achievement

§ Exemplary standards of integrity, personal work ethic and continuous involvement in self education and development

§ Communicator with exceptional people skills, team and facilitation skills

§ Strong organizational, strategic/tactical planning and Business Excellence team/project management experience and leadership
