DescriptionResponsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, reviewing & processing payment of invoices, vouchers, garnishments and other check requests; verifying and posting payment checks, preparing ledger entries and handling the resolution of account discrepancies; receiving & reviewing purchase orders, check requests and/or other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures and contractual requirements.Other job functions include: Match original invoices and requests for payment with internal purchase orders or check requests; perform calculations to determine appropriate payment schedules and amounts and make modifications as necessary; code, verify and electronically enter accounts payable data into SAP system; verify, file and post payment checks to appropriate vendors and/or agencies; follow up on account statements and other discrepancies regarding payment of accounts and serve as liaison between departments and vendors in the resolution of administrative problems and inquiries; and other duties as assigned by management.Required SkillsQualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred; 3+ years of experience in a corporate accounts payable environment; knowledge of standard accounts payable policies, procedures and regulations; ability to understand and interpret vendor invoices, statements and other requests for payment; knowledge of purchase orders and related accounts payable documentation; ability to utilize an automated accounting system; basic data entry and/or word processing skills; ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports; good interpersonal skills with ability to positively work within a team environment; able to work occasional overtime when business conditions require it.
