Warehouse Manager 2nd Shift

SUMMARY OF POSITION.The Warehouse Manager is a management level position in a 625,000 sq. ft. distribution center that interacts with all levels of the organization. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the second shift Shipping & Receiving functions of the Distribution Center. Acts as a logistics facilitator to ensure all elements of the distribution process are coordinated in such a way that internal and external customer requirements and time constraints are met. Serves as a high impact player in a significant roll that assists Covidien to be the number one healthcare company in the world. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1.Ensures proper receiving and storing of finished goods in a timely accurate manner.2.Ensures proper shipment of finished goods in a timely accurate manner.3.Must be able to effectively manage the operation using available resources within budgetary guidelines.4.Responsible for the training and development of supervisory, lead people and hourly staff. 5.Must work with the Operations Manager, other Staff Managers, Supervisors, and Human Resources concerning policy interpretation, company goal implementation, and procedures.6.Must be able to work with outside plant managers, material managers, planners, etc. in manufacturing plants and the corporate office.7.Must exercise proper communication skills, listening, written and verbal, at all levels of the organization.8.Must be able to motivate an hourly work force to its fullest potential.9.Ensures proper procedures are followed within Distribution Center.10.Oversees time and attendance, as well as productivity and error standards.11.Creates and maintains a safe working environment to include safety training.Non-Essential Functions1. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.Requirements: Education: Bachelors Degree from a four year accredited college or university.Experience: 5 years of management experience preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Demonstrated excellent listening, verbal and written communication.Must have ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information in written, oral and diagram formats.Must interact well with associates at all levels.Requires ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with constant interruption, often under pressure; must be flexible to changes in priorities.Must be able to work independently.
