Division: Cardiac Rhythm Management Division (CRMD) Location: Sylmar, CA 91342 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Career Level:Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Company:St. Jude Medical Verification Manager/Lead Engineer Verification Manager/Lead Engineer – Job Description Working without appreciable direction, the Verification Manager/Leader will be responsible for the verification strategy and team leadership including monitoring cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction and people management in accordance with Corporate and Divisional Operating Procedures. Sets goals, ensures that they are met and is responsible for continuous process improvement.  Responsible for processes and technology selected and utilized. Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility.  Ensures employee compliance with St. Jude and CRMD policies. Responsibilities include:§ Works closely with the project manager to generate schedules necessary for the control of assigned verification tasks.§ Leads and interacts with functional groups as necessary to define work breakdown structures/action items, and to coordinate assigned tasks as required to achieve project goals related to schedule, performance and cost.  Manages the related deliverables.§ Directs and oversees test engineers on the team. Promotes teamwork within the project and inspires high performance.§ Performs a central role in defining the test strategy, methodology and tools to ensure requirements are met and the highest quality is delivered on time.§ A key team member responsible for generating test designs and procedures.§ Works with management to mitigate risks, and remove roadblocks to ensure the success of the team.§ Generates and distributes appropriate reports to keep project management and team members informed of the status of the assigned effort.§ Collaborates with other engineers on all phases of the software development life cycle process, from requirements thru field support.§ Initiates process improvements for that contribute to high quality products, timely deliveries and efficient use of available resources.   Required skills:§ B.S. degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS) and/or equivalent technical degree (advanced degree preferred)§ 5+ years leading software test teams of at least 10 software test engineers with proven track record of completing on schedule with high quality results§ 5+ years testing an external facing, database driven internet application§ 10+ years of overall all software product development experience (software requirements, development and testing)§ Proven experience leading software test teams of high performing contributors, across multiple geographies. International experience is a plus.§ Strong verification & validation experience defining/instituting processes and methodologies§ Extensive knowledge of different software verification methods.§ Experience testing an external facing, highly distributed Internet application with a multi-tier architecture§ Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Event Driven Architectures (EDA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Oracle Database/SQL Server, Data Translation, Data Mapping, XML / XSD, WebSphere MQ Series, WebSphere MB, WebSphere Application Server, Middleware Design, UML, Corba, and WSDL etc§ Knowledge of Internet security testing§ Experience with web application performance testing/tuning§ Knowledge of scripting such as PERL, TCL, Visual Basic, and Python§ Experience with multiple operating systems including Linux and Windows§ Good programming language skills with languages such as C/C++, C# and Java§ Experience with ClearCase, ClearQuest and DOORS is preferred.§ Excellent analytical skills for finding, troubleshooting and resolving issues§ Self motivated with excellent planning, interpersonal, organizational, documentation, verbal and written communication skills§ Ability to bridge communication between technical and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectations§ Experience with MS Project, Excel, Word and Visio.   To apply (Resumes will not be considered if questions are not answered) Please send resume in WORD format along with answers to the questions below:1.)
