We have an immediate opportunity in our Carlsbad, CA territory for:Staff Engineer, Digital DesignResponsibilities: Specify and execute comprehensive reliable microcontroller based digital designs Conduct worst case analysis, synthesis and timing studies to ensure reliable design performance Write test software to verify/test digital designs Create schematics Plan board layout in PADS PCB Plan, write, and execute comprehensive verification plans Support Halt/Hass system testing. Manage contract design resources as required. Generate board and subsystem requirement documents Specify, program, and verify programmable logic designs (CPLDs, PALs, FPGAs) Work with Operations/Manufacturing Engineering and contract manufacturers to plan and execute Design for Manufacturability and Design for Testability activitiesRequirements: Minimum of BS Electrical Engineering; MSEE desired. Minimum of 10 years experience in an engineering design environment is required. Ability to analyze and resolve issues and evaluate tradeoffs to achieve overall project objectives, meet project commitments (schedule and costs) and concurrently handle multiple project assignments. Strategic thinking skills, creativity, organizing, written communications, interpersonal savvy Required Experience: PIC, ARM, Microcontroller Design, PAL, PLD, CLPD, FPGA Design, Worst Case Analysis, Signal Integrity Simulation, Assembly Language Programming, PADs PCB Board Layout, OrCad Schematic Capture, ADC and DAC Design, and VHDL Programming Experience Desired Experience: Medical or DOD, or Aircraft Design Environment Experience, Analog Design Experience and C Programming Automated Requirements Management tools (Requisite Pro, Doors) At Respironics Inc., our products improve the lives of patients with a variety of respiratory needs in the hospital, homecare, critical care and neonatal environments.
