Job Description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for; designing and implementing servers, storage and network infrastructure enterprise wide, ensuring that the technology infrastructure operates to established service levels and proactively matching technology to business needs.

 

Key Outputs

It is the responsibility of the Sys Admin to stay ahead of new advancements in technology, establish alignment with business needs and lead infrastructure technology projects.  The Sys Admin working with other technical staff, has primary responsibility for building and maintaining the Windows technology infrastructure including OS and MS Office System server applications

 

Responsibilities

1. Builds and maintains servers running Windows operating system and various applications and programs that run on servers.  Ensures high availability by maintaining server and application security, monitoring, patch management, tape backup and recovery, managing access, and ensuring system fault tolerance (60%).

2. Manages storage technologies (10%). 

3. Investigates new technologies as they emerge and keeps skills current (20%)

4. Provides tier 3 support for 24x7 operations (10%)

 

Skills

·  BA - MIS, Systems Engineering or equivalent

·  MCSE certification

·  7+ years experience in information technology

·  5+ years experience in system administration in 200+ user environment

·  Storage (NetApp) Administration Skills (Independent)

·  Windows Desktop Skills (Expert)

·  Windows System Administration (Expert)

·  Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocol and Network Topologies (Advanced)

·  Computer Hardware Skills (Advanced)

·  Knowledge of Storage Attached Networks (Independent)
