Job Description Sr. Internet Marketing Specialist Sr. Internet Marketing Specialist This position is responsible for the recommendation, implementation, documentation, training, ongoing support and optimization of the division’s e-marketing business processes and enabling technologies consistent with divisional and corporate programs and strategies. The successful candidate will use exceptional project management and communications skills to focus primarily on the implementation and support of web, email, and document sharing applications with the primary objective of optimizing web experience customer satisfaction scores. This position will work across marketing communications, product marketing, sales, and service within the Scientific Instruments Division and with corporate and other divisions where strategies and programs overlap. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Working across SID’s marcom, product marketing, sales, and service groups, assist in driving the development and definition of SID’s global Internet marketing strategies, programs, and priorities. Ensure that these programs and strategies are aligned with overall Web programs and strategies for the Thermo Scientific brand. Work closely with corporate marketing and the e-business teams to communicate, champion, and implement SID priorities, strategies, and programs. Serve as a permanent member of the Thermo.com web editor team. Track and evaluate e-marketing trends and thermo.com performance, suggest new strategies or programs, and evaluate new technologies or solutions as they relate to Thermo.com and e-marketing. Understand and communicate how new technologies will impact current processes and make recommendations based on risks/benefits. Continually gather and monitor customer feedback/input to learn about and explore continuous improvement strategies for Thermo.com. Make recommendations and drive planning/implementation for the approved enhancements. Drive SID’s development of e-commerce programs in accordance with division need and value to our customers, and in coordination with divisional Service Marketing staff. Proactively explore, assess, and recommend solutions to improve data management on Thermo.com, working closely with Marcom Operations teams in NA and Europe and the corporate e-business team. Develop and manage the division’s Web plan/budget. Implement and maintain e-marketing performance reporting tools that enable performance evaluation of e-marketing related campaign activities. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external business partners, and familiarity with internal programs and resources, for multimedia presentations, webinars, and other programs that interact or are hosted on Thermo.com. Tactical Lead the divisional migration of existing thermo.com web content to the new thermo.com 2.0 web site and associated technologies. Develop and maintain user documentation and training tools for all SID e-marketing business processes and enabling technologies. Write, perform and document QA test procedures and results for all e-marketing business processes and enabling technologies Maintain project and support desk logs and regularly communicate status of projects and support desk activities. Provide day-to-day support and training as needed to internal business partners. Lead the prioritization and coordination of content updates for SID products, activities, markets and other areas of content on Thermo.com, including driving maintenance of fresh content. Lead the prioritization and coordination of search engine optimization efforts for SID products, activities, markets and other areas of content on Thermo.com with importance to SID such as vertical markets. Plan and implement new Thermo.com enhancement projects, including the definition and implementation of new processes. Administer user access and authorization to e-marketing tools. Other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications (Education, Experience and Key Competencies): KNOWLEDGE: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives. SUPERVISION: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments, and may provide guidance to other personnel. EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Graduate coursework is desirable. BA in marketing, business, computer science or related field with 4-6 years job related experience. MBA preferred Strong prioritization, project management and written and oral communications skills· Strong interpersonal skills, including experience in establishing collaborative working relationships. Experience working on web sites for global or multi-national companies preferred. Experience within a B2B direct marketing environment. Industry specific experience preferred. Proficient with Web development projects, HTML, email marketing, document sharing and web response form technologies.· Proficient knowledge of contemporary Internet marketing best practices.· Ability to work effectively and influence others in a matrixed environment; works well within and among teams· Proficient knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, data query tools, web content tools.· Experience with eCommerce related Web development projects.· High level of intensity and comfort level with change while driving toward results Able to express commitment to One Thermo and the integrated Scientific Instruments division · Occasional travel required Education: BachelorsJob Level: Experienced
