We currently have an exciting position in Dublin, CA for a Software Program Manager. Ideal candidate will have experience in medical device, scientific development, and/or application development.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Software Program Manager is a Senior Staff level Software Engineer and is responsible for the development of software for use in ophthalmic products. Manages Software Engineering teams focused on the delivery of a software product through the development process and into a finished state for external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Plan and direct software project schedules. Monitors the software project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with other departments on technical matters.

· Assign and monitor work of software engineers, providing technical support and direction.

· Schedule and lead checkpoint reviews, and ensures that all required software documentation is created and controlled.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· May participate in software requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Provides guidance to software program team members to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

· BS in CS or related field, advanced degree desirable.

· Twelve (10) years software development experience, including software project lead responsibility.

· Two (2) years software program management experience.

· Knowledge of C/C++ and object-oriented design techniques.

· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
