Set up Technician
Manufacturing/Production/Operations Total Work Experience: 1+ to 2 Years Job Description 2nd Shift or 3rd Shift Set-Up Technician Responsibilities:Analyze product defects utilizing calipers, micrometers or gages and initiate corrective action with supervisor, Quality Assurance, and/or department manager. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as assigned by supervisor according to the Preventive Maintenance schedule. Responsibility for quality and quantity of production from assigned machines, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimum performance of the process. Adhere to plant policies/procedures, department safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), ISO 9002 regulations and Good Housekeeping procedures. Complete all pertinent paperwork pertaining to the finished product being produced according to established guidelines in manufacturing procedures. Setup production machines and ancillary equipment according to procedures and product specifications utilizing small hand tools, i.e. wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, drills and channel locks. Monitor machinery and processes goals during shift and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimum performance of process. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunction and either repair the equipment or arrange for technical support to complete repairs. Report any unusual circumstances to supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; mechanical aptitude; basic math skills; Basic math skills; basic computer skills with Windows based programs; ability to solve problems; ability to read gauges & blueprints. Must have the ability to accept and work with constant change. Position requires extended periods of standing and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally the employee is required to lift greater than 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with the help of a lifting partner and/or a mechanical lifting device.
