Reporting to the regional Manager of Server Infrastructure (Europe or NA, dependant of Geography), the Systems Engineer is responsible for providing strategic design of server/network infrastructure, technical support, server/network planning, implementation and controls within a multi-platform, multi-protocol computing environment with focus on the global sites.
This position calls for the engineer to be responsible for the suitable performance of the application to customers expectations.
The engineer will work closely with GIS peer group to plan resources so that customers needs can be met and exceeded.
Required Experience

>University degree in computer related field preferred. Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory and Cisco technologies required. Microsoft certification: MCSE and Cisco certification: CCIE is preferred.
>Experience with supporting enterprise systems
>Experience in working large global projects through consistent methodologies and industry best practices
>A proven track record on working collaboratively with customers and colleagues
>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
>Suitable technical experience in a multi-system technical environment
>Strong problem solving skills. Sound judgment and decision making ability
>Ability to perform distribution, installation, and upgrades of server applications and hardware
>Self-planning and organizing skills enabling one to multitask effectively in an interrupt-driven environment
>Flexibility and initiative to anticipate customer needs, and work ethic geared towards strong customer service
>Log, troubleshoot, and track problems to a successful conclusion
>Develop and maintain documents for both technical and user community
