Division: Atrial Fibrillation Division (AFD) Location: Minnetonka, MN 55345 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Engineering Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Career Level:Experienced (Non-Manager) Company:St. Jude Medical Senior Manufacturing Engineering Supports continuing production and transfer of new products involving the assembly and packaging processes. Develops and leads process validation activities as required.Improves yield, productivity, and material costing through data generated from Balanced Scorecard. Sr Manufacturing EngineerEssential Functions: Lead justification and purchase of new capital equipment and/or upgrades of existing capital equipment. Perform or manage the installation, operational, or process qualifications.Generates, justifies, and changes manufacturing documentation.Participates in cross-functional teams comprised of representatives from R&D, Production, Regulatory Affairs, and other departmentsQualifications: Must have a BS in Engineering, MS preferred, with minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have knowledge of manufacturing processing involving manual assembly, RF and solvent bonding, packaging, sonic welding, and packaging. Experience with statistical techniques (i.e. DOE, SPC), Lean manufacturing principles, creation of value stream maps, design for manufacturing, and design for six sigma is required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel); and the ability to work independently as well as a member to a team. Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industry is preferred but not required.
