Opportunity
Fortune Magazine's "Most Admired Medical and Precision Equipment Company" for the 2nd year in a row is seeking to hire a Senior Manager of Mechanical Development.
This is a great opportunity to lead a hard-working group of mechanical engineers in our client’s Pulse Generator group in transforming our development and production capabilities to meet the challenges of future growth. You will develop, define and communicate your vision and organize the group to ensure the highest quality designs and exceptional productivity.

The Position
You will have management responsibility for organizing, planning and directing the department that is responsible for the design and development of mechanical and microelectronics hardware that is essential to the creation of leading Pacemaker and ICD products. Recommends, interprets and implements corporate, division or organizationally specific policies and procedures to accomplish assignments and resolves a broad range of issues and problems; ensures employee compliance with such policies, practices and procedures. Sets goals, ensures that they are met and is responsible for continuous process improvement. Assures that quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements. Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of mechanical and microelectronics hardware development and 4 years of managerial experience. Requires highly developed project management skills: must be adept at delegation, follow-up and team building.
- Proficiency in ProEngineer and other related mechanical computer aided design and
biomaterial technology
- Extensive experience in mechanical design and development of electronic devices, (medical, consumer
electronics, industrial)
- Extensive experience in designing for manufacturability
- Experience managing a group of development engineers (15+)
- Experience in electronic packaging and electronics assembly is desired
- Experience in designing RF devices is also desired
