Senior Engineer
Opportunity Snapshot:
Be a part of an industry leading R&D team that has continued to stay a cut above the competition. This is an exceptional opportunity to join our Ascendra team (TranscatheterHeart Valve Delivery System) which is developing our next generation transapical delivery system for our new SapienHeart Valve. In this position you will play a key role in the design and development of our Ascendradelivery system. This is a high visibility position and an excellent growth opportunity that will provide you the opportunity to work at the forefront of some ground breaking technology.
Job Responsibilities include the following:Support current transapical delivery systems that include: balloon and sheath delivery systems. Will support quality and manufacturing with respect to design/process enhancements to current delivery system platform.Generate design concepts, prototype builds, pre-clinical evaluations, and transfer of product to manufacturing. May receive technical guidance on the most unusual or complex problems, but independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Document design drawings, 3D models, assembly process development, inspections, work instructions and qualifications. Develop in-vitro test systems and simulations, including the design of equipment and fixtures for design qualification.Interface and manage external vendors. Work closely with project team members, internal partners in the Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing and other departments to deliver project objectives.
Our Requirements:
Must have a proven track record of successful program development. Requires prior leadership experience with at least one cross functional development team to a successful product launch. A bachelor's degree in a mechanical, biomedical, or a related engineering discipline is required. Strong hands-on mechanical and design skills also required, along with proficiency in AutoCAD or ProEngineer. Must possess in-depth knowledge of vascular/cardiovascular procedures in order to communicate effectively with physician consultants. Must possess effective communication skills with technical, non-technical and clinical personnel. Must have the ability to manage several projects and negotiate effectively. Understanding of various FDA requirements, ISO standards and other agencies for product development. Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to achieve results with minimal direction. Position requires a high-energy individual who has excellent teamwork, partnering, and negotiation skills. Must be proactive and creative in achieving goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, project management skills, detail orientation and analytical/problem solving skills are a must.
