Senior Director, Global Supply Chain

Primary Purpose :
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this individual will provide leadership to ZOLL's Chelmsford Materials and Logistics functions, as well as leveraging Chelmsford's resources and buying power to benefit all of the subsidiary locations. Manage an organization of 50-70 people through 5-10 direct reports, encompassing Purchasing, Production & Inventory Control, and Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics. Will provide significant support in these areas to subsidiary operations. 

 

Primary Functions:

 

30% - Planning and Management

· Staff selection, training, and development

· Reviews and compensation decisions

· Development of MPS from sales forecasts and other input

· Ownership of end of quarter execution

· Effective planning and sourcing in support of new product introduction

  30% - Worldwide Sourcing

· Leverage and develop worldwide vendor base to ZOLL's optimal advantage

· Coordinate value engineering efforts between ZOLL and the vendor base to minimize cost, while maximizing quality

10% - Inventory Analysis and Control

· Structure MRP parameters and perform regular inventory analysis in order to minimize inventory while at the same time effectively executing the build schedule and preventing stock-outs

10% - Logistics

· Provide oversight and control to inbound and outbound shipping methods; work cross-functionally to ensure efficiency in selection and management of all transport and associated costs

· Duty drawback

10% - Subsidiary Analysis & Consultation

· Provide and leverage expertise in all of the above areas to the maximum advantage of the subsidiaries

10% - Projects and Other Responsibilities as Assigned

 

Competencies:
To qualify for this position the candidate must possess a  BA/BS in appropriate discipline, plus 10+ years of supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, in addition to:

· International experience in sourcing and distribution

·Demonstrable skills in global procurement, inventory control, planning, and logistics

·  In-depth knowledge of ERP systems - Oracle preferred

· Skilled in problem solving/systems analysis

· Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
