SR. DESIGN ENGINEER

Divisional EngineeringSr. Design EngineerSUMMARY OF POSITION:Design Engineer needed to lead and mentor a dynamic Divisional Engineering group for advanced medical mechanical devices supporting medical device assembly and component manufacturing at various manufacturing sites. Responsible for generation and development of design concepts, testing and implementation of solutions for continuous improvement. Leadership opportunity including extensive professional development and training opportunities with an industry leader.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Coordination of efforts with plant manufacturing engineering on design-related efforts for multiple product lines or families.• Use of Pro-Engineer and associated FEA and tolerance software for part design, assembly, and analysis• Identify opportunities and assist in redesign efforts for existing product components and assemblies (metal and plastic) with focus on product and process improvement.• Integral member of project team managing design improvements for completion within established timing and budgets• Maintain documentation associated with product design modification• Oversee design documentation transfer associated with product line transfer(s) from divisional to mature manufacturing.• Communication and coordination with multiple functional groups includingmanufacturing, corporate quality, regulatory, marketing and sales.DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Some travel to manufacturing sites and supplier visits required.• Provide support and direction for lower level engineers with regard to engineering decisions and departmental/company policy.• Continue to enhance engineering and leadership skills through additional training.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education Required: Education Preferred: • BS Engineering or Equivalent • BS EngineeringMinimum Experience: • Min 7+ yrs.
