For more information, visit us as www.covidien.com SUMMARY OF POSITION:The successful Global Product Manager in the Patient Monitoring and Oximetry Class of Trade, will champion the global commercialization of their focus products including new product launches and new market development initiatives working with Regional Marketing Representatives (US and outside the U.S.) on implementation strategies and tactics. This includes: • Development of commercialization plans, including pricing, positioning, placement/channel planning and execution • Chairing global commercialization team meetings and executive reviews• Development of global launch internal and external communications• Post-launch follow-up, communication, and results management The successful Global Product Manager will develop and implement customer-focused marketing initiatives including: • Execute and track develop customer-focused marketing campaigns • Assist in developing and conducting programs for sales representative training, customer training, professional learning programs, labs and customer in-services. • Research competitive tactics and strategies and develop proactive responses• Arrange and conduct customer advisory groups • Planning, organizing and attending strategic site visits to target customers.• Assist in the development and maintenance of customer accessed databases and referencesThe successful Global Product Manager will initiate and champion new product research and development opportunities including:• Develop project proposals, business plan and project assessments and participation on cross-functional development teams.• Researching new market and application opportunities • Organizing and implementing customer and market research including internet-based customer research, focus group activities, and one-on-one interviews.• Field-test logistics and site visits with Research and Development• Conduct product validation and customer preference evaluation activitiesThe successful Global Product Manager will champion global P&L management and analysis including:• Monthly sales results teleconference with regions to discuss performance versus budget, share success stories, etc.• Development of revenue and margin enhancement initiatives • Executive presentations and results meetingsThe successful Global Product Manager will work with Clinical Affairs, Manufacturing, Logistics, Manufacturing and Operations Engineering, Trade Show and Conventions, and Transportation including:• Management of product launch activities, schedules and logistics• Product back-order management, logistics and communication• Demonstration product logistics for sales representatives, conventions, labs, seminars, etc.• Product obsolescence logistics • Sales promotion/conventions logistics and management• Development of clinical research objectivesOther tasks may include:Assist in creation of marketing materials, promotional items and clinical documentation for new product launches. Provide field technical and clinical question support for the clinical, sales and customer service representatives. Identify key elements to effective selling and assist in developing marketing programs to address regional needs.Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:• BS/BA degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or Engineering; MBA desirable.• 2-5 years in marketing within the medical device industry.
