Purchasing Manager

Massachusetts manufacturer of medical devices seeks a purchasing/materials management professional for all aspects of material procurement and planning for a diverse manufacturing operation.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·  Supervision and development of materials / purchasing personnel

·  Manage procurement, planning, inventory control operations

·  Lead material based cost reductions

·  Negotiate price and delivery contracts with suppliers

·  Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies for the purchase of inventory and non-inventory materials and services

·  Lead New Product Introduction planning activities

·  Manage MRP system

·  Develop processes to ensure the quality of all purchased materials

·  Manage supplier evaluation and supplier corrective action programs

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

·  Must have a BS / BA degree with a minimum seven years of purchasing experience

·  Strong materials management experience with emphasis on procurement, production planning, and inventory control

·  Supervisory or management experience

·  A working knowledge of MRP systems and their capabilities

·  Technical understanding of electromechanical components, injection molding tooling, and plastic parts

·  Experience introducing new products to Manufacturing

 

Preferred Experience / Expertise:

 

·  In-depth knowledge of Fourth Shift MRP software system

·  BS technical degree / MBA

·  A good imagination
