We have an immediate opportunity in our Pittsburgh, PA territory for:Project ManagerResponsibilities: Lead one or multiple research and continuous improvement projects. Act as the project champion and lead and develop the specifications, technical design, and performance criteria for mechanical medical device products. Coordinate and schedule design and product development resources to satisfy the project goals, including project milestones, product quality and cost targets. Eliminate project roadblocks, including identifying resource bottlenecks and allocating the resources to overcome the bottlenecks. Analyze and test of overall systems, prepare reports, and hold/participate in design reviews to further document design acceptability. Provide coaching and guidance to associates assigned to the project team. Prepare and provide project overviews and status reports to management.Coordinate, schedule, and budget activities to satisfy the project goals, including milestones, cost targets, and product quality.Proactively identify and mitigate risks through effective project management. Track all issues and action items to closure. Ensure that teams follow good engineering practices, procedures, Quality System processes, and effectively use Respironics systems to attain project deliverables. Demonstrate creativity, technical judgment and interpersonal skills that are required to enable the successful completion of projects involving cross-functional teams.Requirements: BS Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering, MS or MBA a plus. PMP Certification a plus.Minimum of 3 years of project management experienceExperience utilizing a disciplined, structured and repetitive product engineering life cycle.Experience in managing multiple projects from initiation to final design and production.Experience managing projects with cross-functional teamsExperience with sub-contractor management a plus.Experience with plastic part design, analysis, testing and production implementation required.Experience in a manufacturing or a sustaining product engineering environment a must.Experience utilizing project management software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft ProjectMedical device or similar industry experience a plus.Travel to Asia a probability.Travel requirement likely not to exceed 25% in any one yearAt Respironics Inc., our products improve the lives of patients with a variety of respiratory needs in the hospital, homecare, critical care and neonatal environments.
