Production Supervisor

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR:

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Organize and direct the shift production operations through communication and interaction with the contracted work force and Classic personnel. Provide proactive plans in achieving maximum machine efficiency, including but not limited to cycle time, mold cavitation, out of specification conditions, and scrap. Assist with the administration of company goals, objectives, and policies.

 

 

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

1.  Plan and adjust shift expectations based on current operating conditions.

 

2.  Organize and lead daily shift change meetings with Process Coordinators, Maintenance Specialists, Quality Specialists, and Shift Trainers.

 

3.  Implement proactive measures to document and control machine cycle time versus quoted times, maximizing mold cavitation while minimizing scrap and internal rejects.

 

4.  Coordinate and communicate activities during the shift with Process Coordinators, Maintenance Specialists, Shift Trainers, Inspectors, and Packers. Insure efficient usage of contract workforce labor.

 

5.  Prioritize mold changes and color changes based on changing conditions during the shift.

 

6.  Utilize scheduling tools to change the production schedules as necessary to accommodate unscheduled events occurring during the shift.

 

7.  Use the manufacturing software system to generate reports relative to machine efficiency, cavity utilization, downtime, scrap, and job historical production data.

 

8.   Assist with the development and training of other associates on the shift.

 

9.  Responsible for keeping the Production Manager and / or Business Unit Manager

informed regarding production schedules, work force needs, production needs and demands, and associate relations status.

 

10.  Capable of analyzing an associates’ work habits.  Communicates by written and oral

reports, based on the Supervisors’ observations and evaluations, to achieve maximum associate performance.

 

11.  Responsible for completion of performance evaluations in an accurate and timely

manner for all associates.

 

12.  Involved with assisting the Maintenance Specialists and Process Coordinators

troubleshooting tooling and machines that may occur during a production run.

 

13.  Works with the appropriate departments to process customer complaints, product

rejections, or rework in a manner that is consistent with maintaining plant operations.

 

14.  Work to maximize customer satisfaction at all associate levels.
