Product Development Engineer
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Avalign Technologies, Inc. – Lake Forest, Illinois, is a full-service provider of implants, instruments, and delivery systems to the medical OEM marketplace. Avalign’s portfolio of companies work with one another and the customer to shorten the design, development and manufacturing time associated with new product launches. This “concept to package” approach ensures customers can derive revenue faster while reducing the overall cost of the project development. Two of Avalign’s portfolio companies are Advantis Medical, Inc. located in Greenwood, Indiana and Nemcomed in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Hicksville, Ohio. Advantis manufactures cases and tray delivery systems and Nemcomed is a provider of custom implants and instruments to the orthopedic marketplace.
We are currently seeking a Product Development Engineer with Nemcomed in Fort Wayne, IN.
Duties will include:
· Work with customers to design and develop medical devices, in conjunction with utilizing Nemcomed proprietary technologies in accordance to ISO and FDA regulations.
· Work to develop new proprietary technologies relevant to current market conditions and improve existing technologies which have significant impact on company sales and performance.
· Create three dimensional computer models of devices.
· Create engineering drawings, including assignment of dimensions and tolerances to designs.
· Interface with medical professionals with respect to design and development of devices.
· Interface with other company personnel in the management of project responsibilities.
· Oversee projects from initiation to product launch.
· Create and maintain documentation relevant to design control and other applicable regulatory requirements.
· Support products at trade shows and medical meetings.
· Some travel required.
Successful candidate will possess:
· Bachelors Degree (BSME or equivalent)
· 1-3 years experience desirable - medical device preferred
· Pro/E CAD software and Microsoft Office Applications
