Division: Cardiovascular Division (CVD) Location: Maple Grove, MN 55311 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Engineering Career Level:Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Company:St. Jude Medical Principal R&D Engineer Position Summary:  Contribute technically to vascular access and closure projects within the Technology Development Group. Develop R&D personnel and resources within the Technology Development Group to achieve superior results on multiple projects. The Technology Development Group creates new product concepts in an accelerated environment using the latest design methods in preparation for lower risk downstream product development.Duties & Responsibilities:• Conceptualize new devices using material knowledge and innovative design • Establish requirements and specifications • Work with outside consultants, vendors, and the medical community • Support animal and bench testing and clinical evaluations • Test method and model development • Maintains knowledge of the developing clinical environment (i.e. current treatment methods, evolving clinical needs etc.). • Ensure compliance with procedural and documentation requirements of SJM,  FDA and ISO design controls • Support design reviews and physician visits • Coaches, develops, and mentors direct reports • Manages R&D hiring and human resource needs • Leads and contributes to R&D functional strategic initiatives for continuous improvementTechnologies: • Mechanical design of biocompatible metals and plastics • Absorbable biomaterials • Vascular access and closure • Machining • Molding • Extrusion • Thermoforming • Material Selection (including but not limited to: HDPE, ABS, Silicone) • Packaging and Sterilization If you are interested in exploring this job opportunity with St. Jude Medical, visit “Careersâ€� on our website at www.sjm.com and apply to requisition 8695 or click apply now.Apply Now!
