Planner / Buyer

The Port City Group, Inc. is representing a well-diversified integrated medical device leader.  Our client is one of the largest players in the market, specializing in innovative, high-quality products and services.  LOCATION: Mahwah, NJ Qualifications: 4-Year Degree Required  Years of relevant experience: 3 - 5 years of experience required in related field. Percent Travel Required:  Up to 25% Job Description:Plan and purchase, manage resources/vendors and all inventories (FG, WIP, Raw) to achieve team and business goals. Key Attributes of the Candidate:·  2+ years in planning/purchasing within a medical device industry. ·  Procurement experience around general machinery of metals/plastics. ·  Supplier background.·  Experience controlling finished goods. ·  AS400 ExperiencePrincipal Accountabilities:  Apply the latest planning and information management tools, search out and leverage best practices, and participate in ongoing skills training. Maintain strong lines of communication with teammates, vendors, business units, cost accounting, IT, QA, customer service and distribution to ensure that all ideas and issues are addressed. Maintain all material-control related systems to reflect changes of customer demand. Work with other business units on inventory and logistics planning of rollouts, inventory forecasting, yearly cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement of quality systems. Support team in all aspects of business. Interface with QA to help continuously improve the cell's quality system. Assist the team's technical specialists on all process improvement projects.
