Manufacturing/Production/Operations       Total Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION: As a key member of the Surgical Devices Operational Excellence team, this hands-on pro will be the primary driver of Business Process Excellence using Lean and Six Sigma methods with an initial focus on financial processes. This person has responsibility for planning, leading and executing key projects aligned to the GBU’s strategic goals. This position will work closely with GBU Leadership and across functions to drive improvement efforts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Is a practical and hands-on Six Sigma project / Kaizen leader.- Is recognized as an expert coach and teacher in the application of Lean, SPC and Six Sigma in business processes. - In addition to being an expert, has an integrated working knowledge of Kaizen, Process Behavior Charts, DMAIC and DMADV. - Is fully capable of leading and facilitating improvement projects and kaizen events in an office/business environment through completion with minimum supervision. - Develops and drives the Process Excellence deployment plan for the business, including operational excellence for business and operations, financial and accounting processes, margin enhancement activities and supply chain management/logistics. - Coaches and mentors GBU’s Process Excellence Teams to ensure their continued development in applicable skills and knowledge related to process improvement, including DFSS, PDP and margin enhancement.- Is responsible for the promotion, dissemination, continuing education, team coaching of Lean Accounting and Accounting for Lean initiatives.- Has solid-line responsibility for business process OpEx focused on administrative process improvements, margin enhancement and lean improvements to the Product Development process. - Partners with finance and accounting leaders at all levels to drive Lean and Six Sigma improvements in the processes they own.- Ensures project tracking and dashboards are maintained and results are communicated / summarized monthly.- Assists the GBU OpEx Director and senior business leaders in selecting projects that align with business/functional goals and strategies. - Works with leadership in installing organizational supports for Process Excellence (reviews, communications, rewards, software, etc.)-Prepares training material and conducts training in Lean, Six Sigma, SPC and DFSS/PDP as needed-Carries out applied research in the development or adaptation of tools and methods for business / financial process improvementsRequirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- Must have Six Sigma Black Belt / Lean Certification or equivalent.- Must have a working knowledge of LEAN tools and methodology.- A background in finance, accounting or business/engineering economics.- Must have experience in new product development and introduction with emphasis on Lean Product/Process development or DFSS.- Must be able to function well within a matrix reporting environment.- Proven skills working with cross-functional teams- Strong presentation skills requiredEducation: BS/BA degree or equivalent degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study. MBA, MS or higher technical graduate degree preferred. Project management certification is a plus.Experience: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Leader, solid knowledge of Six Sigma and LEAN principles and implementation with a minimum 5 years of business operations and/or plant manufacturing or quality experience, which includes a minimum of 2+ years of demonstrated process improvement program success. MBB preferred. Skills/Competencies: Solid past performance as a project manager. Strong analytical/statistical/modeling and problem solving tools. Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs with business processes. Strong coaching, facilitation and organizational skills. Excellent oral/written communication and platform skills. An understanding of and proficiency in Change Management. Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical software packages (Minitab, Crystal Ball, Process Simulation, etc.). Ability to lead by example and influence senior managers with tact and diplomacy. Able to manage multiple priorities and multiple projects under pressure.
