We have a new position for a Cost Accounting Supervisor. This is a challenging position in the Cost Accounting group of a fast growing, global medical device manufacturer. This position is deeply involved with analyzing and understanding the financial results of our manufacturing operation. This position will perform analysis to support strategic decisions as well as identifying cost improvement opportunities. The position requires the ability to interact effectively with financial and operational people across the company. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide support to our Plymouth manufacturing operations and corporate finance groups by assuring the production of timely and accurate financial information and analysis. Review, analyze and interpret results of operations, identify financial and operational issues and make recommendations for change. Examine, analyze and interpret production variances for manufacturing and financial management including material, labor and absorption variances. Works with Operations group to proactively ensure proper procedures are established and followed. Responsible for month-end close process relating to cost of sales and gross margin analysis. 2. Responsible for accurate standard product cost. Provide reporting and analysis of actual work order and inventory transactions to ensure proper cost allocation and accounting treatment. Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting models for cost of sales, department spending, and overhead absorption. Prepare or support preparation of all required analysis as directed to meet dictated schedule timelines. 3. Supervise and develop personnel, including providing work direction and guidance, reviewing work and providing coaching and feedback. 4. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the company ERP system, QAD, and financial reporting software program, Cognos Finance. 5. Other duties as assigned or required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: BA/BS in Accounting. Experience: · Five plus years of practical experience. · Extensive experience in Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, etc. Other skills: · High standard of integrity. · On time, on schedule focus. · General business acumen. · Team orientation and ability to deal cross functionally and build the needed creditability with the business units and project teams. · Ability to work across cultures. · Outstanding analytic skills and attention to detail. Strong numbers aptitude. · Strong knowledge of GAAP and FASB reporting requirements. Knowledge of SEC reporting and international accounting standards a plus. · Ability to manage several projects simultaneously. · Ability to work effectively with all levels throughout the organization. · Adaptable, flexible, and personable to succeed in a dynamic, energetic and fast paced environment. · Strong communication and presentation skills. · Confident individual who will proactively bring issues and opportunities to the forefront, and deal with them in a timely and appropriate manner.
