Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: Engineering Mechanical Engineer- Medical Device  Job Description: Product Design Engineer - Medical Device Description:The Product Development Engineer is responsible for executing on new product development projects, for reporting on projects accordingly, and for supporting the Director of Product Development. Responsibilities: - Requires cross-functional project leadership including but not limited to initial program planning and concept discussion, program execution, pilot - Identifies new product opportunities through developing customer relationships and understanding relevant technologies. - Work closely with surgeon champions and thought leaders in the field to develop design specifications for new products, and iterate those specifications through the design process. - Collaborate with outside subcontractors to prototype, manufacture pilot lots, and transfer into production new implants and instrumentation - Evaluate and assess competitive products, processes or new trends. - Maintains documentation of design activities during the development process, including conceptual sketches, design meeting minutes, risk analysis, testing protocols and results, etc. - Ensure compliance with company quality policies, procedures, and practices through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound quality assurance principals and FDA regulations. - Provides technical support of the existing product base.Requirements . - BS or MS in mechanical engineering - 2-5 years experience in orthopedic product development - Knowledge of domestic and international regulations as they pertain to medical device design. - Experience working in a cross-functional environment guided by a formalized stage-gate development process - Working knowledge of manufacturing processes common to orthopedic implants and instruments, including machining, injection molding, heat treating, passivating, anodizing, porous and plasma spray coating, etc. - Proficient in Solid Works software or other similar 3-D CAD program.For immediate consideration please send your resume to Brett Wayne at [email address removed]Required Skills for Product Design Engineer - Implants Job: MEDICAL DEVICE SOLIDWORKS 3D MODELING BSME Required Skills: SOLIDWORKS, 3-D CADJoin Aerotek CESM, one of the leading providers of engineering and engineering support professionals in North America.
