Job Description Material Handler Job Description Job Title: Site Technician Reports To: (note direct and matrix reporting lines as applicable) Site ManagerGroup/Division: Managed ServicesCareer Band: ILocation: Skokie, ILNo. of Direct Reports: 0Day/Shift: RegularFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary: This specialist will work under the title of Site Technician. This position provides dedicated service at the customers’ facilities which may include shipping, receiving, desktop delivery, customer point of use bins (remote inventories), mail management, chemical tracking, stockroom services, compressed gas delivery, and material handling. Serves as a liaison between Fisher and the customer. Establishes and fosters positive customer relationships. 1. Independently makes decisions under guidance of Site Manager and utilizes available resources to meet customer requirements, which includes proficiency in Fisher Scientific procedures, customer systems and procedures, stockroom and material handling. 2. Primary functions will be mail delivery to designated mail stops, management of shipping supplies at various locations, pickup, metering, and staging of outbound mail and packages; as well as delivery of compressed gas and management of gas cylinder inventory and designated package delivery.3. Utilizes advanced systems and performs the functions stated below: · Operates mailroom equipment, including Pitney Bowes mailroom systems.· Operates Oden’s Pack Trac software· Operates ChemSW’s CisPro Live web based program4. Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Fisher.5. Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer and Fisher reports to ensure customer and Fisher requirements are met.6. Responds quickly to customer requests. Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times.7. Communicates with direct supervisor any customer issues or potential problems. 8. Attends required training sessions.9. Follows all safety guidelines.10. Participates in projects and performs other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: HS Diploma or equivalent, 1-5 years of experience in customer service and/or warehouse, stockroom, or distribution environment. Preferred Experience and Education: BS/BA Degree, IATA and DOT certification, shipping, receiving or chemical handling experience, experience in a laboratory environment, mailroom experience. Minimum Requirements:1. Ability to read write and speak English.2. Extensive walking to and from customer points; ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.3. Proficient verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills/Microsoft office.4. Ability to work overtime.5. Ability to operate material handling equipment, i.e. power and manual pallet jacks, fork lifts, and light material handling equipment.6. Ability to recognize chemicals and other hazardous materials; and ensure proper handling based on established procedures.7. Some areas may require wearing specific personal protective equipment8. Depending on area of building, clean room garments may be worn to include coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets and/or vinyl gloves to avoid product contamination9. Carry and respond to a mobile phone or pager10. Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and enhancements.
