SUMMARY OF POSITION:This position manages the Market Development Executive team that supports and develops current surgical practices, newly established practices, and targeted competitive accounts within a specified geographic region.  Key activities include, but are not limited to: Establishing goals, strategy and tactics; developing an Employer Value Model: Overseeing Covidien’s relationship with all key Insurance Providers; Deploy the Team; Train the team and interactive management; Support Internet updates. ESSENTIAL FUNCITIONS: Develop a national business plan based upon regional market opportunities and site analysis also to include tactics for individual regions. Manage individual sales results for each Business Development Executive and support individual initiatives as tactics to the national plan. Works with and provides training for Business Development Executives. Influence corporate resources necessary to achieve business objectives including: PME, reimbursement, Product Development, Clinical Affairs, etc. Explore key financing alternatives for bariatric surgery and incorporate programs for the team to promote as necessary. Evaluate current coverage policies and current pricing for product with local, regional and national managed care organizations, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other Government payer sources. Identify Managed Care Organizations that have or plant to retract coverage for surgery benefits.  Advocate as necessary. Present to select US Employers with information. Comply with any lobby registration requirements.     DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Educational required/preferred: Advanced Healthcare Economics Degree, Bachelors Degree, Registered Nursing Degree, or higher; MBA or MPH preferred Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience with managing a field team in reimbursement or healthcare strategy and/or has proven track record managing relationships with healthcare insurers Preferred Skills/Qualifications:   1.   Ability to manage national, functional and diverse team2. In-depth understanding of healthcare delivery system from Government and commercial payors to healthcare providers3. Experience in hospital provider product line management (Transplant, Cancer, Cardio-Vascular, Orthopedic, etc.)Skills/Competencies:  4. Developing direct reports5. Managing conflicts6. Composure7.
