Manufacturing Supervisor
Job Description:
This position is responsible for the productivity of approximately 25-35 CNC machine tools including swiss lathes, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling machines, wire EDMs, grinders, and mill-turns. The position also includes performance management, providing delivery dates for machined products, solving complex problems related to manufacturing, and leading formal and informal projects.

Responsibilities: Supervise approximately 30-40 CNC machine operators and machinists; provide direction and guidance to associates on a daily basis. Maximize machine utilization for assigned machining centers. Monitor and analyze machine productivity and present weekly reports to management. Maximize employee productivity within the cell by allocating resources to required machining centers; work with other manufacturing supervisors to allocate resources across the facility. Balance utilization, delivery, and cost by allocating overtime as required. Interact with planning, engineering, and quality functions to achieve on-time delivery, quality, and profitability goals. Update assembly supervisors and plant leadership on delivery of machined components as required. Foster a team environment within the department and throughout the facility. Lead process improvement project teams as required. Maintain compliance with company policy, QSR and safety standards. Develop manufacturing monitoring and measurement systems.

Requirements: CNC machining background not required; must have ability and desire to learn key aspects of precision machining. Must have advanced problem solving and decision making skills demonstrated by experience in manufacturing, military, or other complex operational environment. Exhibit strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Must be able to build interdependent partnering relationships that facilitate the accomplishment of Operations goals/objectives. Apply team-building basics/fundamentals that result in accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives. The ability to understand capacity planning including ERP as well as lean manufacturing technologies. The ability to apply basic project management skills to complete assigned projects effectively and consistently meet challenging schedules. Must be able to apply conflict resolution skills to facilitate effective employee/supervisor relations.

Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
