MGR PLANT ENGINEERING

Summary of Position:Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for researching and implementing methods to increase production and overall product quality. This position would be utilizing engineering expertise and managing skills to oversee the Engineering Department personnel, work with engineers to develop capital equipment requests to oversee the implementation of new equipment to meet future production capacity needs and work closely with Production and Maintenance personnel to clarify machine problems and assign priorities/personnel based on process/project requirements. The scope of this position also encompasses the Facilities / Maintenance Department.1. Directs engineering resources in support of all manufacturing equipment, processes and the facility.2. Directs engineering resources to prepare and execute capital budget, manage capital spending and forecast, prepare capital projects.3. Determine manpower requirements and staffing to carry out specific capital and engineering technical assignments.4. Provide engineering resources to assist the plant achieve all objectives.5. Leadership and management of the Engineering Department, for performance review and personnel development.6. Organize all engineering resources and oversee completion of project work.7. Supports all resources and oversee completion of project work.8. Provide engineering resources to develop product cost estimates and capacity analysis for OEM, CERs and engineering studies, etc.9. Directs contractors and project team members and is responsible for implementing programs to ensure that the quality of work meets Kendall, professional and governmental standards.10. Responsible for Facilities / Maintenance Department.11. Other duties as assigned with and without accommodation.Requirements: 1. BS or higher in Engineering from a four year accredited college or university.2. 8 10 years related engineering experience with at least three of these in a supervisory role.3. Professional Engineering License helpful4. Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with the concepts of limits, quadratic and differential and proof of theorems.5. Use of Microsoft Office programs.6. Understanding and application of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic technologies and equipment. 7. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical information, financial reports and legal documents.8. Possess good written and oral communication skills and is able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.9. Ability to effectively present information to top management.10. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma disciplines preferred.11.
