Lead Commercial Accountant
Gambro is looking for a Lead Commercial Accountant to join our North American Finance team at our corporate headquarters in Lakewood/Golden. The team member will be responsible for examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports. . This position is also responsible for applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in order to maintain accounting systems, prepare financial reports and give financial advice to management. This position will serve as a resource to other Senior Staff Accountants within the team to ensure documentation and understanding of the companys principal business activities. SAP experience strongly preferred! You must currently live in the Denver metro area.
This position will support the Commercial Sales & Marketing teams for detailed accounting, reporting and analysis of the U.S. HemoDialysis (HD) and Water (WT) business lines.
· Specific Areas of concentration are: Sales to Actual Gross Margin reporting for approximately $220M of annualized sales (Sales, Prime Costs, Direct Sales Costs, Warranty Costs, Standard Cost Variance, Revision of Standard Cost); Direct Capacity costs (Sales/Marketing and Service); Inventory and Inventory Obsolescence reporting and management
· General types of monthly transactions include: Sales Commissions, Over/Under absorption calculations for WT, Deferred Income/Cost, Sales and cost of sales transactional review, Capacity Cost review for reasonableness and accuracy, Inventory Obsolescence Analysis and monitoring, Inventory In-transit monitoring, and Maintenance and summarization of accounting system (Peoplesoft)
· This position will work closely with the HD/WT Business Controller in reporting and interpreting financial results, analyzing trends, assisting in forecasting and budgeting and further developing financial reporting tools that will assist with the business analysis.
· This position will direct the Senior Commercial Staff Accountant in preparation of monthly financial reporting and compilation of monthly financial data.
· Responsible for all monthly global (VEGA) reporting. Will also support and backup the Senior Commercial Staff Accountant US IC/SVC with all internal reporting.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
· Five years minimum previous general ledger accounting experience is required. A CPA certificate or masters degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
· International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) experience a plus.
· Advanced Excel knowledge is required (i.e. PIVOT, Macros, and Lookup functions).
· Prior experience with large accounting systems is required
· Excellent computer skills including ERP systems (SAP experience strongly preferred) and spreadsheet analysis.

Responsibilities:
· Monthly Close Functions: Journal entry preparation, monitoring of GL postings for accuracy, analysis of financial data related to overhead area, internal reporting of financial results, global reporting of financial results, and evaluation of IFRS standards to ensure accurate reporting.
· Identifies, recommends, and implements means to continuously improve the accuracy, efficiency and quality of department systems and processes while recognizing impact to all business areas. This will include development of detailed business process work flows and maintenance of detailed desk references.
· Responsible for training/education of Senior Commerical Staff Accountants on area of concentration. Development of financial reporting and analytical tools to provide business area leaders information to make sound financial decisions based on actual results.
· Monthly Reporting & Analysis for use by Commercial Management Team. Ensures accurate and timely preparation and review of key financial reports (i.e. Flash Report).
· Assists commercial area with analysis and detailed information required to aid in preparation of forecasts and budgets.
· Maintains financial records and reporting necessary to provide assistance and financial information to internal and external auditors. This will include monthly reconciliation and analysis of some balance sheet accounts (including inventory and obsolescence) in according with company financial policies.
· Initiates and completes special projects, involving analytical thinking and judgment.
· Actively participates as a member in a team oriented environment.
· Develops sound business relationships with all appropriate functional areas such as operations, sales, marketing, logistics, and quality assurance.
· Provides assistance and financial information to internal and independent auditors.
