Experienced Calibration Technician

Position Summary: Performs non-routine to moderately complex technical assignments using standard methods and sequences, including set-up, calibration, testing, repair, inspection and maintenance of equipment and tools; implements and documents additions, changes and improvements to processes and equipment; makes adjustments, modifications or replacements as directed. Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives. In addition, maintain calibration and maintenance system with regard to database management and accurate record keeping. Essential Functions: • Comply with XTENT’s quality system requirements as well as any applicable regulatory requirements. • Applies broad knowledge of basic QA concepts and practices, and has a general understanding of manufacturing processes, products or systems fundamentals. • Troubleshoots and solves calibration and maintenance problems of moderate scope and complexity requiring broad technical interpretation of defined procedures and practices. • Analyzes situations or data to identify equipment or tooling issues and trends. Generates engineering changes with the help of engineers, which can affect the function of equipment. • Interacts and communicates with the appropriate people to ensure the highest quality processes or equipment to meet identified needs. Contributes to the development of ideas for tooling or equipment to fulfill specific needs. • Categorizes, organizes, integrates and records data. Provides input to engineering, qualification and validation studies. Writes procedures, may keep lab book, maintain data base. • Communicates as team member with other functional area groups. Initiates contact with outside vendors and interacts with technical resources. • Coordinates external calibration activity with approved suppliers. Education and/or Experience: • High School, AA/BS Degree Preferred. • A minimum of 5-7 years previous quality technician experience with a medical device product required, at least 3 years previous experienced in a PM role required. Working knowledge of QSR and ISO9001/13485 requirements and demonstrated knowledge of measurement and test instruments required. Experience calibrating microscopes and balances.  Must be knowledgeable in MS office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acess database). Ideal candidates are team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to create positive working relationships cross functionally at all levels.
