Job Description:  Driver (Washington, DC area)

 

The Driver is responsible for scheduling and delivery of equipment to the customer in a timely and professional manner, as well as educating the patient/care giver on the operation and safe use of equipment.  This individual will also be responsible for equipment, warehouse maintenance, and tracking of inventory at all times. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



· Responsible for delivery and set up of equipment in accordance with arranged schedule to the customer/patients in a timely and professional manner.

 

· Instructs and demonstrates patient/care giver/nurse on proper and safe use of equipment. 

 

· Loads equipment in an orderly and secure manner in accordance with EquipTech™ Policies.

 

· Drives safely and defensively, obeying all traffic laws.

 

· Provides safe environment for the patient at all times.

 

· Checks electrical outlets for power whenever delivering electrically powered Home Medical Equipment.

 

 

Requirements:

 

·  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Two years of customer service or comparable experience required.

· Must have a current state driver’s license in the state in which the applicant resides.

· Must be dedicated to providing outstanding customer service.

· Good communication skills (verbal and written) and good organizational skills.

· Must be able to work independently.

· Must be willing and able to work extended workweek, including some evenings and weekends.

· Must be available to rotate on-call with field service technicians and to travel when needed.

· Must be able to safely lift 100 lbs.

· Pass physical functional testing.

· Complete all required training.

· Previous driving/delivery experience is preferred.

· Previous DME (Durable Medical Equipment) experience is preferred, but not required; training is available.
