Data Analyst
Job Title: Data Analyst
Reports To: Director of Strategic Initiatives
Department: Client Services
Location: Corporate Office
Summary:
The Data Analyst will coordinate the flow of information to internal and external customers through the extraction, processing, and formatting of sales, performance, and productivity data. Working within the framework of the Client Services Team, the Data Analyst will be required to demonstrate a high degree of maturity, ethics, and professionalism with an aptitude for understanding and balancing the demands of the customers while maximizing the success and profitability of The Palm Tree Group. The Data Analyst must be detail-oriented, resourceful, and alert to expanding our sales opportunities and achieving daily intra-departmental goals in a multi-tasking and exciting business environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
File Preparation:
Ensures timely receipt of raw offer files from customers and vendors.
Processes vendor and customer data files for system upload.
Exports processed data from system and reformats it to customer and vendor unique specifications.
Coordinates work flow within specific schedule to ensure on time delivery of data files to Palm Tree Group Team Members.
Builds custom mapping queries to automate the preparation of customer and vendor files.
Customer Offers:
Plans work schedule around customer offer schedule and communicates this schedule with various departments within The Palm Tree Group.
Coordinates and is cognizant of the time frame allowed to transfer offer information between the customer and various departments within The Palm Tree Group.
Assures that all offered product is at a price that meets the unique standards of the company.
Formats and submits offer files to the customer in a timely and appropriate manner.
Electronically uploads or manually enters (when required) customer orders into the PTG database, following upload procedures and subsequent order verification processes.
Analyzes offers and builds reports to support departmental objectives dealing with the offer process.
Daily/Monthly Sales Reporting:
Refreshes and distributes the Daily Sales by Rep report detailing daily sales growth, low GP item analysis, and individual rep account analysis.
Communicates issues with current open orders with the appropriate account reps and/or management and follows through until an acceptable resolution has been reached.
Records and tallies company sales progress on the Daily Sales Board.
Updates and distributes (when required) customer quarterly review reports on a monthly basis.
Analyzes and reports customer usage, savings based on time spans, manufacturer purchases, or any other items details based on time and/or account.
Database Management:
Builds and manages databases created on a monthly basis pertaining to various customers. These databases detail customer requirements,offers, sales, and various other forms of trend information.
Has the ability to manage and organize information between various forms of applications, for example, importing/exporting from Excel to Access, Cognos to Excel to Access and vice-versa.
Reviews PTG Inventory Database to ensure that data is current and correct.
Analyst Activities:
Generates and distributes reporting tools used by upper management to make critical business decisions.
Verifies that all customer cross referenced information within the PTG database is current and valid.
Confer with the Client Services Team on a daily basis on departmental activities and goals to be achieved for the benefit of The Palm Tree Group.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language/Reasoning Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze,and interpret technical procedures or any set standard procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondences, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to comprehend technical and abstract concepts with strong analytical skills.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Inventory software, and Database software. Ability to effectively run Excel and Access programs. Do not apply if you do not possess a proficiency in Excel and Access.
