Job Description Customer Support Applications Chemist Customer Support Applications Chemist The Customer Support position will support applications related customer problems and new initiatives in the environmental and toxicology markets. The individual in this role will be a resource to internal and external customers; running and helping our GCMS Customers run excellently in the customers’ lab following Customer Group’s developed science. This person will have the background to suggest how to follow through to completion chemistry based problems for Customer Support. Teaching other Customer Support members and FSE members the needed chemistry explanations to support the vertical marketing initiatives will also be key to this role. We require a BS degree, preferably in Chemistry.  A higher degree is preferred.  We are looking for a candidate with hands on method development and troubleshooting for GCMS, specifically environmental and or toxicology.  Hands on experience making GCMS standards for a many assays is also required.  The ability to troubleshoot GCMS hardware and software problems without supervision is key to the success of this position.  Because this individual will interface with customers in person and on the phone, excellent listening skills and verbal communication skills are required. Concise communications in written form for updating manuals and documenting methods is also required.  Computer skills to understand how software interacts with the GCMS and methods and courses in Vis- basic programming or database creation and management is a plus.  Having published methods that were accepted and used by other chemists to perform measurements in the lab is a plus.  Public speaking is also critical to the success of this role.
