Principal Black Belt Engineer for Continuous Improvement University  Our Continuous Improvement University group is seeking a talented and skilled Principal Engineer with a Black Belt or Master Black Belt. If you are interested, please send resume as a WORD attachment to tgertsman@sjm.com.  Job Summary: Principal Engineer: works directly with the design, development, and manufacturing organizations to provide expert, hands-on implementation of Six Sigma methods and related tools to identify and capitalize on continuous improvement opportunities throughout the design, development, test, validation, and performance life cycle. These tools may include, but are not limited to, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/A), and Quality Functional Deployment (QFD). May also include the use and facilitation of Voice of the Customer (VOC) analyses/verification, as well as Concurrent Engineering (CE) methods in order to establish a framework for managing, monitoring, tracking, mitigating risk, and supporting the project selection/chartering process. Work requires the application of theoretical principles and creative/analytical techniques. Will possibly lead improvement projects. Coach and mentor belt candidates through successful completion of business critical projects resulting in certification of those candidates. Conduct workshops for various belt levels as well as specific tools upon request.Requirements/Education: ·  MBA preferred.  ·  Ability to explain technical topics in a variety of layman’s terms·  Must be comfortable presenting to groups of students in a classroom setting·  Must be a person that enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others understand·  Need a solid understanding of Six Sigma and Lean tools·  Some travelDesired Requirements: Experience with Development teams is a plus.  Especially in teaching and/or applying DFLS (Design for Lean Sigma) or DFMA (Design for Manufacturability & Assembly).  This will be a major area of focus.
