CNC Lathe Machinist IV- Medical Device Industry

SUMMARY
Performs necessary duties to operate and maintain CNC Lathe Machines with Fanuc style controls in a safe, clean, and productive environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Able to perform advanced set ups including; to include toolset troubleshooting and program editing
• Able to program simple parts at the control
• Comprehensive understanding of Fanuc controls
• Able to operate Lathe Machines with Fanuc style controls to manufacture production runs of machined parts
• Maintains equipment including machines and measuring tools
• Keeps work area safe and clean
• Advanced knowledge of reading, comprehending, and understanding blueprints, sketches, and verbal and written instructions
• Must posses advanced abilities in using standard shop measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Continually demonstrates the advanced ability to set up and run close tolerance machined parts of titanium, plastic’s and stainless steels using standard shop machine tools such as Screw/Lathe Machines in a fast pace environment
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able have an advanced understanding of blueprints and written and verbal instructions
• Able to program simple parts at the control
• Basic understanding of Fanuc controls
• Must have keen knowledge of general shop mathematics
• Must possess advanced mechanical aptitude skills
• Must be able to set-up and operate Lathe Machines with advanced level of complexity
• Experience with Mori Seiki Mill turn
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum 7+ years experience running Fanuc control style Lathe Machines. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
